Event Sustainability & Carbon Estimator

Answer a few questions about your event and we'll generate a preview of its estimated carbon footprint, what our growing, sourcing, and reuse practices avoid, and which of our 25 documented carbon-reduction actions apply — the same data that becomes your formal 25-Point Event Evaluation Report after the event.

Methodology & sources

  • Delivery & logistics: distance × round trips × 1.3 kg CO₂e/mile, a typical medium delivery-vehicle factor consistent with EPA and DEFRA commercial vehicle ranges.
  • Florals: imported/hothouse-grown stems estimated at 2.0 kg CO₂e/stem (average of published rose studies, 1.8–2.4 kg CO₂e/stem); locally-grown, seasonal stems estimated at 10% of that figure, per the Sustainable Floristry Network's finding that locally-grown seasonal flowers can carry roughly a tenth of the footprint of hothouse-grown or air-freighted stock. Mixed sourcing uses the midpoint.
  • Event power: grid power estimated at ~0.42 kg CO₂e/kWh (approximate U.S. grid average); diesel generator power estimated at ~0.90 kg CO₂e/kWh (DEFRA 2026 diesel combustion factor of 2.58 kg CO₂e/litre at ~0.35 L/kWh typical generator consumption).
  • Driving equivalence: 0.40 kg CO₂e per mile driven, a commonly cited U.S. average passenger-vehicle factor (EPA).

This tool produces a good-faith planning estimate for client communication, built from published, cited factors — it is not a certified GHG Protocol or ISO 14064 audit. Reuse, composting, offset, and conservation-investment practices are shown as documented actions rather than assigned invented emissions values, for the same reason we describe our pongamia grove's sequestration as an estimate rather than a verified offset. Your formal 25-Point Event Evaluation Report, delivered after the event, is compiled from actual sourcing and logistics data.
